St Alkmund’s Church, Shrewsbury

Wednesdays in Lent:  A series of introductory talks on religions of the world, all at 19.30 in the Church.  Tea and coffee will be provided

April 1st  (Sunday (10.00): Palm Sunday Eucharist (Commencing in St Chad’s with Procession of Palms to St Alkmund’s)

April 7th (Saturday 20.00):  The Easter Vigil (The ancient preparation for celebrating Christ’s Resurrection (approx. 90 minutes)

May 20th (Sunday 10.00):  Eucharist led by the Bishop of Lichfield

June 10th (Sunday 10.00):  Eucharist, (at which the people of St Chad’s join the congregation of St  Alkmund’s)

 August 5th (Sunday 10.00): Eucharist and commencement of Flower Festival   (Celebrating Saints of August)

December 2nd  ( Advent Sunday 10.00): Eucharist ,  Preacher: The Ven. Paul Thomas, Archdeacon of Salop

Sponsored Walk, Rev Richard Hayes with Shropshire Army Cadets

April 10th-14th:  St Alkmund’s Walk (70 miles, from St Alkmund’s, Aymestry, Herefordshire via Shrewsbury to St Alkmund’s, Whitchurch) Proceeds from this Cadet in the Community/ Duke of Edinburgh Award project will be split between the welfare funds of Shropshire Army Cadet Force and St Alkmund’s Church Restoration Fund.
